College Bound Jocks (CBJ) & Diamond Dynasty Athletics will be hosting this event at Mt. Hope Park Softball fields at: 7419 E Mt Hope Hwy, Grand Ledge, MI 48837 before the Michigan Exposure Tournament on July 16. CBJ will have stations set up to get your measurables. They will include Bat Exit Velo for hitting, Overhand Arm Velo for throwing, Home to 1st From Bat Contact for running, Pitching Velos for Pitchers, and Pop-Times for Catchers. Pitchers and Catchers will participate in all other measurable events. CBJ will certify these Measurables and they are a very important part of the recruiting process. College Coaches use measurables to compare athletes. The cost is $50 and CBJ will deduct that $50 from any of their Skills Video Packages if a player decides to have CBJ produce their Skills Video within 90 days of the event.

CBJ will e-mail you an invoice, your payment will secure your spot. Space is limited so don't wait.

Please wear your travel ball jersey and bring all of your equipment and water bottle. Bathrooms are on site.

A friendly reminder that all teams need to mail in a check for payment ASAP to lock in your spot for the 24th annual tourney July 17-19. The checks will not be cashed until the end of January. 18u is full but we could use more 14u teams.

Tonight - Starts Step #2 in our Recruiting Ed Process with our 14U & 16U Teams. COMMUNICATION is crucial in softball recruiting because it’s how players, coaches, and parents build relationships, share information, and demonstrate interest. Here’s why it matters so much:

🧭 1. Shows Interest and Initiative
College coaches want athletes who are proactive and genuinely interested in their program.
Reaching out, asking good questions, and staying in touch shows maturity, confidence, and motivation — traits coaches value highly.

💬 2. Builds Relationships with Coaches
Recruiting is often about fit, both athletically and personally.
Consistent, respectful communication helps coaches get to know your personality, character, and work ethic beyond your stats.

🗓️ 3. Keeps You on Coaches’ Radars
Coaches recruit many players at once. Regular updates (on tournament schedules, game highlights, or academic achievements) help you stay visible.
Without communication, it’s easy to be forgotten, even if you’re talented.

🎓 4. Clarifies Expectations and Opportunities
Good communication helps both sides understand where they stand in the recruiting process.
Players can ask about scholarship availability, roster spots, or what the coach is looking for in a recruit.

🏆 5. Demonstrates Professionalism
How you write emails, respond to messages, or speak on the phone reflects your level of preparedness for college athletics.
Clear, polite, and timely communication builds a positive reputation.

👥 6. Connects the Whole Team (Player, Parents, Coaches, Travel Team)
Communication among all parties ensures that everyone’s on the same page — from scheduling visits to verifying eligibility and academics.

In short, communication is the bridge between talent and opportunity. Even a standout player can miss out on a spot if they don’t build and maintain those connections.
