Thankful for the ability to move..💯

As simple and trite as this may seem, it’s sentiment resonates with me.

For the past 15 years I have followed my passion, helping others develop and maintain their vitality through movement.

I have seen people lose mobility through disease, illness and through the gradual inevitably of Father Time. 😔

It is easy to think that one will remain healthy, mobile and that true misfortune will only happen to someone else…

I implore you to do the necessary work required to stay healthy…your family, friends and society depend upon you taking this responsibility.💪

Use it or lose it, another saying which can seem a bit trite. How will you use the gift of movement today? Inspire someone else through your actions and behaviors!

Due to disappointing factors I was not able to participate in person at the 5th Avenue mile. Rather than let this disappointment define me, I ran the mile virtually. 🏃 ❤️💯⁣

6:26 not the envisioned 5:59 I had work hard to achieve. My resolve to earn this goal is only further strengthened. ⁣

How do you optimize training to maximize potential in YOUR specific sport? 🤔 ⁣

Here are THREE important training tips to help you reach YOUR potential.⁣

1) Take your resting pulse for sixty seconds ⏰. Consult the graph to see current heart efficiency ❤️. As the heart becomes more efficient, resting heart rate will decrease.⁣

2) Have a plan! 💯 I take into account an athletes sport specific training demands prior to designing and developing a tailored program. A strength and conditioning coach must also ensure an athlete’s performance peaks at the optimal time (competition phase.) ⁣

3) Train with a device which measures your HR ❤️ In real time. This data is essential to maintaining HR zones and maximizing training time.⁣

Monday Motivation 💪😎🔥⁣

Athletes....⁣

Trying to increase your explosive 🧨 power but aren’t seeing the results you desire?⁣

Here are my top 3 CSCS tips to increase ⁣
YOUR explosive power output.⁣

1) After a proper warmup, ALWAYS start with power exercises. Too often athletes try to perform explosive exercises after heavy strength sessions. Make sure your central nervous system (CNS) is fresh. ⁣

2) PROPER REST- When training high power output muscle fibers 💥 we must also remember that they fatigue rapidly. For every 1 second of work, be sure to rest for 12 seconds in order to properly train these muscle fibers.⁣

3) FLEXIBILITY- Without proper range of motion in a joint, one can not elicit maximum force production 🧨. Be sure to utilize dynamic (with movement) stretches pre workout 🏋️‍♀️ and static stretches post workout.⁣

You can’t build a house without a foundation⁣

Lower body strength and power is a prerequisite not only for athletic performance but for maintaining health-span and vitality well into your senior years. ⁣

Here are three reasons why you shouldn’t skip leg day.....⁣

1) A recent study of 20,000 found a 20% lower risk of mortality rate for those whose quad circumference was more than 22 inches (men and women.) 😎⁣

2) A second study by Danish researchers tracked cardiovascular 🫀 disease amongst 3,000 volunteers. Researchers tracked the volunteers for an average of 12.5 years. They found that people with big thighs (24 inch) circumference had a lower risk of heart disease and premature death than those with thin thighs. 🤯 ⁣

3) In 2008, a French study with more than 6300 participants found for the first time, an inverse relationship between carotid plaques and calf circumference Although this needs to be confirmed in other populations, it may suggest an antiatherogenic effect of large calf circumference.😮
