Senior Spotlight: Jack Ratchford

“Off the water, Jack is such an easy person to talk to. He’s incredibly welcoming to the novices, helping bring them into our community. No matter how hard the workout is, he can always get a smile out of everyone. On the water, he brings immense focus and determination. In every boat I’ve had the honor of sharing with him, I’ve felt proud, whether we won or not, knowing we were always giving our best. I’m so grateful to have spent these four years on this team with him.” - Nate Woodruff

Jack is headed to UofM this fall to study engineering. Jack has been an incredible leader on this team, especially this last year serving as a captain. We are grateful for our time with you, and cannot wait to see what your future holds!

Senior Spotlight: Katherine Arnold

Katherine is headed to GVSU this fall to study computer engineering!

Katherine’s notes to underclassmen: Stick with it. It can only get easier the more you work on it. One of the things I love the most about crew is how much of a challenge it is. It challenges you to work harder and to get better. The fact that I stuck with it all the way through high school is something I am really proud of and has shaped me into the person I am today.

Good luck moving forward Katherine, we know you’ll do great!!

Charles proves what it means to be a leader through everything he does whether it’s helping rowers through a 2k or helping other coxswains grow and develop. He is supportive, kind, and sets an amazing example for everyone lucky enough to work with him. He pushes himself to get better and in turn motivates others to improve as well. He is an amazing mentor, friend, and teammate to everyone. - Catherine Petruzzi

Charles is headed to the University of Michigan this fall. He plans to continue coxing with their men’s team, and Study Mechanical Engineering.

Join us in wishing Charles good luck as he moves onto his next steps. We know he will do incredible things!
