It's taken us a minute after the 90th celebration to collect our thoughts and photos and be able to sum up what a lovely day it was... but here we go!

Thank you to our community who really stepped up with bringing cakes- we had 37 cakes, and since 12 cupcakes = 1 cake, we had over 90 cakes to celebrate! Everyone appreciated the artistic beauties just as much as the wide variety, because jeezum crow, did we have cake!

Chocolate, strawberry, white, ginger, coconut, apple. banana, cinnamon swirl, pineapple-upside-down, Cincinnati Opera Creme, gluten-free-dairy-free, mud season, parsnip, carrot, lemon, lemon blueberry, namoura maple syrup soaked Ramadan cake, chocolate raspberry, Guiness chocolate butter beer, and there were more.... There may be a cookbook coming out soon, as a further fundraiser for the Slopes, so keep an eye out here!

Thank you to our community who cooked and served- vegetarian chili, mac and cheese by Kelly, and old-fashioned Nor'Easter Burgers, cooked by Margaret and Wendell of Crossmolina Farm!

Thank you to our past volunteers brought memorabilia, skis, and pictures!

Thank you to our current volunteers who ran the T and little tow so skiers could do their thing on their rock skis!

Thank you to Boo Blodgett who rounded up the best local bands to provide some excellent live local music in spite of their fingers- thank you so much!!! (Feel free to tag yourselves, bands!)

Thank you to Darn Tough who donated 90 pairs of free socks for our first 90 guests!

Thank you to Rebecca Garone who donated her photographic services with a lot of the attached photos, and Kelly Smith who took as many as she could take while also keeping the kitchen in line!

I feel pretty confident when I say that a good time was had by all. Check out these pictures and I think you'll agree with me!

We had so much fun with our Cardboard Box Race this morning!! Thanks to everyone who came out with their sleds: Sugar on Snow, Not-So-Aerodynamic, Trojan Donkey, 1936 Cruiser, The Little Engine Who Could, and 20-minute Tractor!

We ran a couple heats with all the sleds (key word: RAN) and laughed our heads off!

Sugar On Snow got fastest (2 people are faster than one!), Trojan Donkey won Best Design, and The Little Engine Who Could won Best Demolition, and a new name,: "Little Engine Who Didn't "!!

Feel free to add video and pix below.

Our Story

In the off-season of 1936 the Bradford (VT) Winter Sports Club had been formed with anticipation of utilizing a selected hill just west of Bradford village for the new found popularity of alpine skiing. With little snow in town come December, The Club’s president, George Eaton, was traveling along Route 25 in East Corinth on his way to Montpelier when he passed the side-hill pasture of the Eastman farm covered with a half-foot of freshly fallen snow. A handshake agreement with farmer and land owner, Eugene Eastman, was all that was needed to cement a partnership that lasted for the next quarter century.

Today NES is the Oldest Continuously Operating Ski Tow in the USA, renowed for three things: Our long history and REAL snow AND our famous Nor’easter Burgers NO TUBING!!! NO SLEDS!!! FOR INSURANCE REASONS!!
