Some pictures from our weekend at the 27th Annual Warren County Wiffle Ball tournament! The Vortex had a great time improving from their 0-3 2024 showing to 3-0 in group play in 2025.

Game one ended in one inning thanks to a 12-0 mercy rule. Zach Turk hit a three-run homer and pitched a no-hitter to close the game.

Ryan Rutt’s grand slam proved to be the difference in game two’s 4-2 win.

Justin Courtright showed everyone why he’s a league legend with two home runs and 5 RBIs in game three. Sean Huff added a solo shot and John Cuvo Jr. locked things down on the mound en route to a 6-0 Vortex win.

Despite earning the number one seed, the Vortex’s day ended in the quarterfinals with a 10-0 loss to a tough Swamp Donkeys team.

The day ended on a disappointing note, but there were good takeaways. Everyone contributed to the wins throughout the day. Turk and Cuvo held things down on the mound. Danny Hutchinson and Zak Dowling registered numerous hits and walks. Huff and Rutt made plays in the field and at the plate.

“Super proud of how we fought today,” Rutt said. “We had a lot of close games slip away from us in the last year, and it felt relieving to put out a great showing. The vibes were high- it felt like we unhooked the trailer finally.”

It’s game day at MAW Opening Day! The Vortex open their 2025 travel season in York, PA, where they’re looking to bounce back from a winless 2024 MAW campaign. 🌪️⚾️

Happy Tournament day, EBWB nation!

The Vortex traveled to New York to play in MLW’s Long Island Wiffs tournament.They won game one, 17-0, to advance to tomorrow’s playoffs! Ryan Rutt led the way with 3 home runs and a shutout performance on the mound. Game two coming soon! 🌪️⚾️

FINAL SCORES from Wiff Khalifa vs Goblins!

The Goblins start the season 3-0 for the first time in franchise history! 👺🧹

Wiff Khalifa took an early 3-0 lead in game one thanks to a Nate Singleton homer, but the Goblins scored eight unanswered runs to secure a game one win.

Game two was all Goblins. Sean Huff recorded three strikeouts in a shutout effort, and Ryan Rutt recorded eight RBIs off two grand-slams. The Goblins offense fired on all cylinders en route to a 17-0, series-clinching win.

Game three saw Huff hit a pair of homers, while Rutt collected a second win on the hill in another 8-3 game.

Wiff Khalifa drops to 0-3 for a second-consecutive season.

The Riversharks sweep the Warriors on Opening Day! 🦈⚾️
Game one started off 6-5 after one inning, but the Sharks would quickly go on a feeding frenzy! Sharks captain DannHutchinson locked in on the mound, leading to a 19-6 game one win.
Game two was a tight contest, with Sharks rookie AJ Grabosky hitting the go-ahead homer in the bottom of the second. Hutchinson closed the game on the mound to secure the series win!
The sharks earned the sweep with a 4-2, extra-innings win! Justin Robinson hit two clutch homers, Grabosky provided solid pitching and the Sharks defense was locked in.
Despite being swept, Warriors showed great strengths. Rookies Travis Slaughter and Dylan Buskirk both add power hitting to the Warriors lineup, and Cuvo Jr. will settle on the mound.
