Here is a side by side comparison of yesterday’s videos. What I’m working on is to feel a bit of an exaggerated move forward with my hips in transition. Left swing is the first swing, right swing is with what I felt was a big move forward with my hips. If you look at my lead (left) hip in transition, you will see it move closer to the red line. My lead (left) knee also covers the red line. This move shallowed out my angle of attack and moved the club path in to out compared to out to in. You can also see my trail (right) foot pivot smoother in the video on the right compared to left. This is showing that my body is moving fluidly and not stalling out to play catch up. This I’m sure will be one of many small changes/tweaks I will be making in the swing this season. Good job to those with a keen eye.

Part of my practice season work has been based around the driver. Not only am I looking to create more speed, but I’m also looking to tighten up my dispersion off the tee. The good were good, but every now and then I’d get a little wayward shot that would cost me. Here are two swings from my last session. The first swing is pre-change and the second swing is post-change. Post-change, I noticed a much more neutral face and path. Let see who can pick out the adjustment that was made. I’ll give you a hint, it’s a minor adjustment on the video, but the feel I had was dramatic. I will post the answer tomorrow…

A slow start yesterday kept us from making a big jump yesterday, but my partners putter got hot on the back and the birdies started to fall. Not a bad showing in the Sr/Jr Championship. All three courses at were in spectacular shape and the weather was perfect. Back to the grind today with some practice to get ready for the Stableford Championship starting Sunday.

We needed a big round going into today if we were going to make the cut and we were able to put it together. Final round tomorrow and we need another low one if we want to make big moves up the leaderboard.
