🚨ALTON LEGION BASEBALL TRYOUTS🚨
For the 2027 season, we will not be hosting physical tryouts. Instead, we will host an informational meeting going over expectations and everything you’d need to know about America Legion post 126 baseball, off season training, and our summer schedule. If you have any questions or want to play next year for us, please join us at 6pm on Wednesday, July 1st at 643 Sports Training.
Ultimately, we want committed players to play for us. Those who came make all of the off season training and commit to the summer schedule, are the players we want to develop. We aren’t going to have multiple same age teams divided up by skills because legion ball isn’t a money maker. Our coaches coach for “the love of the game.”We aren’t making money off children like the other travel teams are. We teach the game of baseball.

Why pick legion ball over your $5k+ teams? Well cost is a big one. Some players play for $200. The only fundraiser we do to help offset player fees is selling ads to local businesses for our ad book. No food/gambling/raffling fundraisers because we know your family and friends are tired of spending their money. The TOTAL cost we charged players this year was less than $1,500. It includes winter training from December to March, hitting lessons, pitching lessons, etc. We provide uniforms so you don’t have to worry about an additional uniform package fee or any other possible additional fee other teams have charged you for. We also have a post-season where the entire country plays at the same time. Winners from districts advance to divisions, then to state, regionals, and then to the World Series.
Also, we don’t make false promises. Our past college players have told us how attending local showcases and them reaching out to teams themselves to organize workouts were what got them recruited. However, we do have contacts to colleges and will always help our players out with whatever they may need. Showcases and contacting coaching yourself are way cheaper than paying $5k/yr and getting disappointed.
