Final Director’s Blog-
A love letter to the teams, fans, volunteers, Easley Parks and Recreation Department, and the City of Easley-
Wow, I am blessed to complete another World Series with you. I am grateful for your dedication and love of this World Series. It truly takes a team. It is not one person. It is all of you. I am proud to be a small part in this wonderful event that has been brought to Easley for the past 25 years. I don’t think “smooth” is the word this year. Trying to come up with one that represents this year’s event.
I adore each and every one of you. You make me a better leader. I do this for you. Seeing your smiles through the exhaustion is worth all the hours.
-Christman, Adam, Eric & Grounds and Park Team- you are simply the best there is! I know the field and park will be in top notch condition each year.
-Host Families- absolute beasts again. You take those new to this, stressed, confused, and make them feel right at home. Enjoy the final hours with your teams. I know there will be tears.
- Press Box- boy do you keep it all together as we throw all kind of curve balls at you. Thanks for keeping those scores and stats perfect!
-Transportation- unsung heroes. Can’t get anywhere without you. Sorry for those changes in schedules. You continue me to keep teams on time (and safe)
-Souvenirs & Tickets- you know how to sell! You are one of the first faces our fans encounter and you always had a smile. Thank you. So much behind the scenes people done see. You all rock!
-Marketing- Wow, do you know how to tell a story and showcase the players. For fans that could not make the trek or even watch the games, you gave them a glimpse of what is happening!
-Hospitality- none of us got hungry! You and your team made sure we were well fed. Your time each day to pitch in wherever needed when you didn’t need to feed us, is much appreciated.
-Medical- something none of us want to use during this week, but we can’t be successful without you! Looking out for the players safety is your top priority, and I’m grateful it is!
-Security- words can’t express how grateful I am that you are here at the park making sure we are safe. This team is very dedicated. Thank you!
-Park Operations- our setup and take down is very smooth. You help make sure all the areas have what they need to be successful! Thanks!
-Finance- just the best! (Now time to pay the bills 😢)
-Umpires- you traveled to Easley and gave us your 110%. Getting to know each of you over the past 8 months has been my pleasure! Bryan and Sean keep me grounded, and boy do yall know all the rules!
-Hydration Crew- this group became a tight knit family this week. We made new life long friends. Your dedication to keeping those team coolers filled while running ice to all the other areas is no easy task. We all learned to pull and take up that tarp this week. The goal is to do it less. 12 times was not fun. But boy did we laugh when that rain poured down on us.
-Family and friends (like family)- just a big thank you for letting me do something I love each year. I can’t do it without you! Bryce, I love you.
Travel safe, go rest, and let’s start thinking how we can make it better next year! Until then, this Director will be taking a rest.
