From our Club Championships to an outstanding weekend at Westy Hogans, our athletes continue to amaze us. We celebrated championships, personal bests, earned yardage and some outstanding individual performances — and finished the weekend with some VERY BIG NEWS!

A HUGE congratulations to Sophia and Nate, who were announced as members of the 2027 Pennsylvania State Trap Team!

What an accomplishment and an incredible recognition of the hard work and dedication these two young athletes have put into this sport. Congratulations, Sophia and Nate — you earned it!

But accomplishments like these don't happen alone.

Behind every one of these young athletes is a family willing to make the early mornings, long drives, practices and weekends possible. There are teammates who encourage one another through the great rounds and the difficult ones. There are coaches and team advisors who volunteer countless hours teaching, mentoring and helping these kids become better competitors and better young adults.

And there are our sponsors and supporters, whose consistent generosity and commitment to Lower Providence Junior Trap help give these young athletes the opportunity to compete, improve and succeed.

This is truly a TEAM effort, and every championship, personal best and milestone belongs in some way to the entire LP Junior Trap family.

🏆 **What a Week for Our Lower Providence Junior Trap Shooters!** 🏆

We couldn't be more proud of two young men whose hard work and dedication continue to pay off on some of the biggest stages in competitive shooting!

🥈 **Nate Eckert – Eastern Zone Championships (New York)**

Nate made the trip north and certainly made his presence known! His consistency and focus throughout the tournament paid off in a huge way, bringing home **four trophies**, with a **fifth trophy (High All Around Junior)** on its way in the mail!

**Eastern Zone Accomplishments:**

Many of these events were decided by **a single target**, proving just how important every shot was. Nate stayed focused from start to finish and put together an incredible performance against some of the best junior shooters in the region. Congratulations, Nate!

🎯 **Tyler – SCTP National Championships (Ohio)**

Although Tyler was representing the **University of Jacksonville Shooting Team** at the SCTP National Championships, he'll always be part of the Lower Providence family. We couldn't be more proud to see one of our alumni continuing to compete at such a high level. Watching our shooters take the foundation they built at Lower Providence and find success in collegiate competition is exactly what this program is all about.

The team competed in the 2026 PA State SCTP/AIM Championships this past weekend PSSA - Pennsylvania State Shotgunning Association
Many shot in their first dumping rain on Saturday and showed resilience. While Seamus and Logan achieved personal bests, Logan shot 25 straight and then turned it into 50 straight shooting a 97 to win his class in singles on Saturday in the extreme weather! Congratulations to all of our athletes who pushed through the conditions to better themselves and achieved their own success all weekend

What a weekend for Lower Providence Junior Trap at the Colonial Classic in Elysburg!

Making the trip to Elysburg each year is always exciting. The PSSA - Pennsylvania State Shotgunning Association hosts one of the largest lineups of trapshooting events of the season, and the facility itself is truly impressive. For some of our newer team members, it can even feel a bit overwhelming at first.

This is where our athletes step onto the line alongside not only other youth competitors, but some of the finest shooters in the Mid-Atlantic—and in many cases, the country. It's also a unique opportunity for our youth shooters to compete alongside and be supported by the members of Lower Providence Rod & Gun Club, many of whom they have grown to respect and admire.

The competition is intense, the expectations are high, and the environment challenges every shooter to be their best. This year, our team rose to the occasion.

🏆 Weekend Highlights

• Nate Eckert – Junior Runner-Up, Doubles

• Joseph Wehrberger – Shot his first 50 straight, posted a personal-best 97 in Singles, then topped it all off with a 98 to become the Overall Handicap Champion on Sunday, earning an additional 1½ yards.

• Sophia Bux – Class B Runner-Up

• Mikey DePolo – Class D Runner-Up

• Tyler – Shot an outstanding 99 in Sunday's Singles Event

• Nick – Shot a personal best and broke his first 50 straight

• Nathan Richter – Tied for Junior Runner-Up in the Handicap Championship and competed in his first-ever shoot-off, ultimately earning a 3rd-place finish

While the trophies and recognition are exciting, some of the most meaningful moments never appear on the scoreboard.

It's seeing a shooter break their first 25 straight.

It's watching Nick walk off the line after his first 50 straight and personal best.

It's seeing Henry's smile after posting a personal-best 90.

It's witnessing Joseph accomplish goals he had been chasing for years and then exceed them all in a single weekend.

These moments matter.

The kids work incredibly hard, and their dedication continues to pay off. Just as rewarding is seeing the pride on the faces of parents who have supported them every step of the way.

To the members of Lower Providence Rod & Gun Club, our volunteers, our families, and our dedicated sponsors—thank you. None of this happens without your continued support and generosity.

The lessons learned on the trap field extend far beyond competition. These young athletes are building discipline, confidence, sportsmanship, and friendships that will last a lifetime.
