Fort Morgan High School Golf -Mustangs

This group of girls set themselves apart as special. Not only was this the first since 2011 that a team from Fort Morgan has made it to state. The Mustangs sent a full team and they battled through very adverse conditions both days. The Mustangs finished 11th as a team in the state. Individually, Kaylee Blake finished 25th, Emma McDonald finished 46th, Natalie Carnes finished 49th, and Samantha Ocanas finished 67th. This was an incredible achievement by these four. Over the three days there was growth and a lot of fun. Very proud to be their coach.

Today is round 2 of the state tournament that started at 7:00 in cold conditions and sleet. Season coming to an end soon.

Day 1 of a very wet and very cold day of the state tournament in the books. The Mustangs are sitting 10th as a team. Kaylee Blake led the Mustangs today, followed by Natalie Carnes, Emma McDonald and Samantha Ocanas. After a time of warming up and drying off, dressed up and went to dinner. Tomorrow starts early with a 7:00 tee time, with snow expected until 9:00 and still cold after that. Still looking to move up.

AURORA - The Colorado High School Activities Association has released the team and individual qualifiers for the 2026 Girls Golf State Championships. All four tournaments will held on Monday and Tuesday, May 18-19, at different courses across the state:

It is official as of 8:00pm. Congratulations to the #12 Fort Morgan Girls Golf team taking a full team to state. The top 84 in the state qualify and the Mustangs have at #21 Kaylee Blake, #63 Natalie Carnes, #64 Emma McDonald, and #66 Samantha Ocanas. Congratulations, let’s see what you can do on May 18th and 19th.

Today the Mustangs competed in the final tournament of the regular season. The Mustangs had a good showing at the Limon Invitational. The Mustangs were led by Brooklyn Gonzales, followed by Charlee Grantham, JC Sailsbery and Delilah Kinnison. Good finish to an amazing season, stay tuned for post season information.
