The team had two big results over the weekend! Tony got 2nd place in the masters race at Boise Twilight, and Wils finished 2nd overall at the Bogus Basin Hill Climb!

St. Alphonsus had a strong weekend at the Baker City Cycling Classic, led by a big final-day ride from Wils Cardan in the Masters 35+ Men Cat 1/2/3 field.

Wils opened the race with a 3rd-place finish in Stage 1, then came into the final stage sitting 7th overall and about 1:10 off the podium. On the Stage 4 Dooley Mountain Road Race, Mike Ott helped soften up the field and keep pressure on the riders ahead of Wils in the overall standings.

When the race hit the final climb, Wils made his move. He attacked over the last six miles, caught the rider sitting 3rd overall, and put 45 seconds into the top GC riders. The effort gave him the Stage 4 win and moved him onto the final podium, finishing 3rd overall in GC.

We have three new Idaho State Championships for this weekend’s Treasure Valley Omnium!

In the 40km TT, Michael Ott 1st place for the Masters Men 40+, Anthony Restuccia finished 2nd for the 2nd in Masters Men 50+.

In the criterium, Kelsey Backen finished 1st and Michael Ott finished 3rd in the Masters Men 40+. Anthony Restuccia finished 2nd for the 2nd for the Masters Men 50+.

In the road race, Zachary Steyer finished 1st in the Men’s Cat 3. Kelsey Backen finished 1st and Michael Ott finished 2nd in the Masters Men 40+

For the 2026 Treasure Valley Omnium, Kelsey Backen finished 1st and Michael Ott finished 2nd in the Masters Men 40+!

The 2026 race season is officially underway in the Treasure Valley! Eagle Bike Park played host to the first cross country mountain bike event of the year from Twisted Turtle Racing.

Andrew represented the team in the Under-29 Expert field, taking home the win after a hard fought, 4-lap battle. The sun was out, the trails were fast, and the vibes were sublime. We’re happy to be back to racing!

Cyclocross season got underway this weekend with a great turnout at Waffle Cross in Eagle.

The racing was fast, the weather perfect, and the waffles tasty as ever. Kelsey, Zach, Andrew, and David put together great efforts on a technical course that offered a little bit of everything.

Kelsey scored the first team podium of the series with a 2nd place in the Men’s Masters 40-49 on Saturday and 1st place on Sunday.

Southwest Idaho’s largest gravel race, Strade Vino, is back for a 5th year on April 12th!

Set in wine country, the circuit offers a variety of terrain to test riders’ endurance and skills. After the races, participants and supporters can enjoy local wine and food from 3 Horse Ranch Vineyards and Winery. The event is sponsored by Saint Alphonsus Sports Medicine and Bauerhaus Bikes.

The team will also be sponsoring the gravel clinic led by Ami Stuart on April 5.
