We are a locally owned and operated karate school that focuses on traditional Japanese martial arts and self defense for students over the age of 5 to 95! We are proud members of the AAU (American Athletic Union).

Today was about more than earning a new belt. It was about showing up, working hard, pushing through challenges, and demonstrating growth both on and off the mat.

I am incredibly proud of every student who stepped onto the floor and gave their best effort. Your discipline, focus, and perseverance were on full display.

⭐ A special congratulations to a few students who surprised us and skipped a belt rank entirely. Promotions like that are never expected and are earned through exceptional effort, skill, attitude, and consistency. Well done!

Remember, a belt is not the destination. It is simply a marker along your journey. Keep training, keep learning, and keep growing.

This past weekend at the Taikai in San Diego, our team showed up in such a big way.

Not just with medals — but with courage, teamwork, resilience, and heart. I am always proud of every athlete who chooses to step on the mat, face their nerves, and compete anyway. That takes bravery no matter the outcome.

We trained hard, supported each other, laughed a lot, made memories, and had huge success together this weekend. Watching this team continue to grow is something I’ll never take for granted.

Another exceptional tournament weekend for Team IMA. 🥋🔥

Tournaments are about so much more than medals and placements. They teach athletes how to perform under pressure, overcome fear, manage emotions, show respect, adapt, and grow through both victory and disappointment. Every time our athletes step onto the mat, they build confidence, resilience, leadership, and character that carries far beyond karate.

I am incredibly proud of how our students represented Idaho Martial Arts, supported one another, and competed with heart. Watching their growth is what makes this journey so special. ❤️

We all have someone in life that touches our heart and changes our path forever. For me, that person was Andy Eros, my original karate instructor. I still remember my first orientation with him back in Del Mar 1991.

He instilled in me not only a love for the martial arts, but also the discipline, respect, and mindset that have shaped so much of my life. Looking back, I realize how much of who I am today started inside that dojo over 35 years ago.

How special it is to still stay in touch after all these years, to reminisce, laugh about old memories, and reflect on the journey. Life moves fast, but the people who truly impact us leave footprints that never fade.

Thank you, Andy, for being one of those people in my life. 🙏🥋

🇺🇸🥋 The excitement continues at Idaho Martial Arts. 🌍🔥

We are incredibly proud to announce that two more of our athletes, Danica Riley and Lily Olsen, have now been invited to join Team USA Karate for the WUKF World Championships in Romania. 🇷🇴

Watching these athletes grow through years of training, perseverance, discipline, and commitment has been truly special. Opportunities like this are earned through hard work inside and outside the dojo. 💪

What makes this even more incredible is that, considering how small our team is, SIX of our athletes have now made Team USA. 🇺🇸✨ That is something truly special and a reflection of the dedication of our students, coaches, and families.

Dreams become reality one class, one challenge, and one step at a time. 🥋❤️

Today I want to give special recognition to Sensei Wesh. 🇺🇸🥋

Not only is she an incredible coach, mentor, and leader at Idaho Martial Arts, but she has also qualified and earned her place on the Team USA Karate roster for the WUKF World Championships in Romania.

Many people see the coaching side of Sensei Wesh. They see the encouragement, patience, leadership, and dedication she gives to our students every single week. What many do not see are the countless hours she also puts into her own training as a karate athlete.

To coach at a high level is impressive. To continue competing and performing at a world class level while coaching others is truly exceptional.

We are incredibly proud of her dedication to karate, her students, and her own personal growth journey. She leads by example every single day.

Another huge milestone for our team. 🇺🇸

We are proud to announce that TWO more of our students have officially been selected to represent AAU Team USA at the 2026 WUKF World Karate Championships in Romania!

Hard work. Early mornings. Long practices. Dedication paying off in a big way. We couldn’t be more proud of these athletes and everything they’ve earned. 🥋🔥

Also, another honorable mention to Senpai Betterley for his selection to the team as well. Tho you are in WA, we are still cheering for you!!
