Meet your Blown Alcohol Thunder group co-leads.
Alvan and Laura Behar are in their 11th season with BAT and took on more of a lead role in '19. Laura comes from SCCA off road rally driving. Alvan has pretty much done it all, circle track, dirt track, road course and drag racing.
Pete Ortiz Jr joined the group in '19. Pete was pretty much born in a funny car, he has also dabbled with a nitro altered and front engine nitro dragster.
We are very pleased to announce as of Friday night he has come on as Laura and Alvan's co-lead.

There were countless amazing moments during the course of the two-night Great American Fox Hunt at Firebird Raceway over the June 12-13 weekend.

But hands down one of the true crowd favorites was the "Reaper" BB/Funny Car piloted by Jim Varner from Astoria, Ore., along side of the "Outcast" of Pete Ortiz. It's no secret - we love smokey burnouts. And when Varner blistered the hides to nearly half track, bringing the Trans Am to a stop just before the 1320' lights - the fans stood and cheered him on.

Long live the sights of intense tire melting burnouts - the REAPER RULES!!!
