Happy birthday to two Alaska drag racing legends, Darry and Dale Snelson! The Snelson brothers put Alaska racing on the map by winning the Winternationals and many other notable events with their national record holding Anglia. The car was raced in the summers in Alaska, and campaigned in Southern California during the winters from 1966-1975. The Anglia was featured in Hot Rod magazine, and was a huge crowd pleaser, as well as one of the winningest cars at Polar Raceway.

Happy Heavenly Birthday to Shawn Nault, who ran the first 7-second run in a door car in Alaska racing history in his 1957 Chevy "Tequila Sunrise".

One of the most popular cars of the 70s was the Snelson brothers' Humpin' Husky. The car won numerous track championships and was owned by Darry Snelson and driven by legendary drivers Dale Snelson and Clarence LaMay. The car ran as quick as 9.01 at 156 in 1975, which was right on the national record.

Our prayers and deepest condolences to the family and friends of Jim Herrick. Jim was one of the first hotrod fabricators in Alaska in the 50s and 60s and later got into aviation. He was involved in the Alaska Hot Rod Reunion Drags and Car Show in 1999 and 2000 in Nikiski, where his business was based. He will be greatly missed by all those that he mentored over the years.

Our heartfelt prayers and deepest condolences to the family and friends of Randy Harris. Randy was a true legend of Alaska drag racing and was inducted into the Alaska Drag Racing Hall of Fame in 2017 along with his Harris Brothers Racing team. His Glacier Shaker was one of the most crowd-pleasing cars to ever race in Alaska and he will be greatly missed by many. Godspeed, Randy.
