Update

As our sports programs are getting started I wanted to post an update of our current results from our summer strength/speed training.
High School we saw an average increase on all three lifts (squat, bench, deadlift) of 80lbs. We had one of our athletes go from a 380lbs deadlift to 425lbs. We had another go from 315lbs to 365lbs. Our speed got dramatically better due to the strength increase and speed training. Seth Wiltbank (running back) ran a hand timed 4.4 40 yd dash (his previous time was a 4.64). Most of our athletes saw a massive improvement in the 40-yard dash by improving by at least 2/10 of a second. We had one case where one of our line man improved by 6/10 of a second. The boys bought in and were ready to work hard. I couldn't be more proud of their improvement.

At the middle school we focused a lot on technique in both the lifts and running. Although similar to the high school we scaled our lifts back to a lighter weight and focused on quality reps. The middle school saw most kids improved by an entire half-second in the 40-yard dash. This kind of progress shows the work that they put in. I have never seen a group of boys more dedicated at the middle school level. Most days we had 30 or more boys attending our summer training program. The future is bright and it is clear that both our student athletes, parents, and community are creating a culture of hard work and success. I appreciate your trust and support when it comes to handling your kids. Thank you.
