A very special shoutout to Betsy Cate Brimhall for winning the Spring Fling horsemanship award for the oldest age group. She consistently displays her knowledge of horsemanship around the barn, along with her kind heart and impressive work ethic. This was her last show with us before moving to a different state, and though we are sad to see her go, we celebrate the time spent together and look forward to seeing what the future has in store for her!

SCF had a fantastic time at the Spring Fling!
There was a lot of learning done, from stepping up divisions to stepping back into the show ring, and we couldn’t be prouder of our riders.

Thank you from Julie and Shady Creek Farm and our family Karen and George, Victoria and Jason for the kind words spoken and messages written to us on the untimely death of our dear brother, son and uncle - Matt. His life was well lived and he touched so many as we have heard in countless positive ways. We deeply appreciate all support, thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

Took his blanket off this morning…(fluffy hair not as fluffy at the moment) and realized again “this guy does not look 35 yrs old…!” That’s solid horse under all that hair- Comanche doesn’t care that he needs a bath and somebody to wipe breakfast off his nose 😄 he’s loving life! Gets grooming and good attention each week with veterans doing easy groundwork and plays every day with his best friends in the pasture, and boy does he play! 🥰 These are the little things that make me smile. 😊

Please join us in prayers with love and support for our friend and lesson trainer Shirley Netter whose loving husband Chris died yesterday after a long illness. Chris was a dear friend of Shady Creek Farm and enthusiastic supporter of Shirley’s joy and love for everything horses. In spite of the effects of serious illness, Chris made it a point to keep living to the fullest and came to the farm to enjoy spending time with Shirley and her horses. We will miss Chris and are blessed to know him and call him our friend.
