This weeks player of the week presented by DENIM TEARS! Dvontae Benson showed out this weekend, helping the team go 6-3 while leading the team in batting .777 and doubles with 6! He also had 2 homers and 10RBIs. At 21 years old, he is already one of the top 3B in the nation! One of the smoothest gloves at third you’ll see! He’s starting to find his groove with hitting and has improved in every tournament he’s played in so far. Batting .612 for the season. Not bad for his 1st year of tourney ball. A man of few words. Smoked the ball at the pitcher so hard it took his glove off! The pitcher asked for an apology. 🚨🚨🚨With our victory this past weekend, I am truly excited to announce, that we have been invited to play at the Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa! It was a huge surprise to get that message. the squad is truly honored! We will play the winner of the One Nation Slow Pitch Nationals on August 16th. Huge victory for the squad at state this past weekend! Everyone played hard from start to finish. I would like to recognize these group of guys, as they held it down, defensively and offensively!

1st the MVP!

Alexander Ponce! 10-17, .588, with 8RBIs. His stats may not stand out as “impressive” but his glove was easiest the best in that tournament! Slick glove work, while playing in front of the bag! He turned about 6 double plays by himself! Just a straight dog! Without him playing MM, we easily don’t make it far! Huge shoutout to the vet! He kept us in ever game Defensively!

ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM

Bryan Avalos
16-20, .800, 5HRs, 16RBIs, 2 walks
Pitched lights out. Had constant stops up the middle, and hit the crap out of the ball, every single game! A huge part of our success this past weekend, and a great field General! 🫡

Ray Vallejo
13-18, .722, 2HRs, 12RBIs, 2 walks
The crafty vet led the team with 11 singles, while scoring 8 runs. Played wherever we needed him, and the definition of team player!

Darius Ford Jr.
15-21, .714, 8HRs, 16RBIs, 14 runs scored
No surprise here! DJ has been killing it all season! A spectacular diving catch in left field, saving a few runs from scoring, and his walk off 3 run bomb to secure our 2nd state title! DJ has been playing lights out.

Zion Clinton
14-20, .700, 3HRs, 8RBIs, 7 doubles, 12 runs scored
The young 🐂! Showed out! Slick glove work at short, and his hustle on the bags! Zion definitely contributed on both ends!
