Warm-up:
Doble Daga (double knife) drills

Material - Espada y Daga 2nd set Attacks:
- Reviewed attack #7 from the previous class
- Attack #8 where we explored direct curricular application
- Then we moved into random flow using the 1 umbrella to the kneeling level change as the initial platform exchange. This flow included both parties advancing/retreating while the kneeling partner worked to assume a standing position again.
- We then moved into attack #9 working just the curricular form and base application

Review of EYD attacks set 2 number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7

During the review we played with both curricular application and responding to different stimuli using components of the attacks separately and then in a “come what may” fashion for fun.

After playing with this for about 45 minutes (we’ve worked these attacks a lot so the review was less time-consuming), we moved on to the next item, #8.

We worked on fine tuning the curricular attack itself, flowing into a kneeling position with the thrust targeting the lead leg/groin. We did this in a static state then applied the counter of the opponent simply removing their leg. We then flowed immediately into 3’s and 4’s vs 1’s and 2’s while knee walking forward, then a seguidas series to standing , followed by IV strikes as you angle to their back then a #1.

We played with fast charging into #7 strikes to the knees, then a vertical to take the center line as we charged forward in a kneeling position. Then we went back to the #3 & #4 to the vertical for center, but continued with seguidas series to standing position. Then we played with forward, reverse, and lateral movement on our knees as the opponent delivers only 1’s and 2’s but applied different pressure.

See everyone Thursday night!
