We live in a world full of distractions, notifications and endless to do lists. There’s this pressure to always be thinking about what’s next.
Mindfulness is often presented as something that requires extra time, a quiet room, or the perfect routine. But sometimes mindfulness looks much simpler than that.
It can happen while you’re waiting at a red light. Instead of immediately reaching for your phone or letting your mind race to the next thing on your schedule, try using that moment to check in with yourself.
Notice your breath.
Relax your shoulders.
Feel your hands on the steering wheel.
Observe what you see, hear, and feel in the present moment.
These small pauses may seem insignificant, but they can help us become more aware of how we’re moving through our days instead of operating on autopilot. You don’t have to wait for the perfect moment to practice mindfulness.Sometimes the opportunity is already right in front of you.
