Come on out for our 5th annual ANCHOR HORROR POWER SHOW MOCK MEET! Somehow it’s been 5 whole years of showcasing our amazing athletes’ progress on a low stakes, just for fun platform, and we can’t wait to do it all again!! Candy, prizes for the best costume, and this year, a whole flight of KID POWERLIFTERS! 😻😻😻

Here are the nuts and bolts:

📈 Our coaches write your programming and plan your progression over the weeks and months, and provide you with targeted feedback on your lifts throughout your attendance. Our goal is for you to get as strong as you want to, and to help you in that journey.

More generally, this is what we are about:

🤝 Anchor is an INCLUSIVE place to train and a safe space for everyone. We are absolutely not into “diet culture,” and we are advocates for this as a sport for literally everyone. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels welcome to pursue their goals with a supportive community.

Get ready, June 30th from 12-2 pm we are pairing up with the and again to raise funds for the youth center!

What- a deadlift only charity event

Where- Fullsteam Durham

Why- because deadlifting for a great cause is freaking fun.

Literally all the money that comes in for this goes directly to . Any donations to sponsor a lifter, lift yourself, anything you volunteer to do, it’s all for the center!

Grab a partner and tandem lift, bring your kid who’s been lifting in the garage or at the Anchor kids class, or max out on your own out there, this is truly an event to remember, and the hype is unparalleled!

Come out and learn to powerlift with us! We run these only every few months now that classes are nearly full, so get in while you can— it will likely fill!

Even if you have some experience already, getting your lifts seen by a variety of coaches is invaluable, and you are sure to walk away with good information that you didn’t know before, no matter your experience level.

Come one, come all, to a deadlift event to remember! Anchor X are proud to present Weight Not Hate, a charity event to benefit and celebrate Pride in Durham!

Sunday, September 24th
12-2 pm

Competitors- $50
Sponsored athlete spots- 5 (May select at checkout)
Spectators- $10

Athletes can choose either a power bar or deadlift bar to compete on. Tandem deadlift athlete are encouraged to take pledges for total weight lifted together.

All proceeds will be donated to the Durham LGBTQ center.

On Saturday, August 19th from 12-2pm, Anchor will host Daynya Quigley for a seminar on nutrition and recovery in powerlifting!

The seminar will be a deep dive into optimal nutrition strategies around training as well as other recovery mechanisms such as stress and sleep management.

You are sure to leave with actionable tips and advice to help you improve your nutrition and recovery around training to be a better lifter!
