I am very sad to hear the news that my friend John Middendorf "Deucey" passed away a couple days ago. John is the creative genius and designer/engineer of the D4 portaledge, including the Delta 2p ledges. I met John back in the 80s and sewed big wall gear at his company, A5 Adventures, in Flagstaff. In 2017, we met up again when he asked me to help with his D4 kickstarter to launch his newest portaledge design. It was a great honor to work with John building the best portaledges in the world. But more important, John was a true friend and I will dearly miss him.
