NEWS: Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) has announced a grant cycle for open space projects. Applications
are due on August 12, 2014. This grant cycle is well timed in that the City has an opportunity to preserve
an additional 127 acres within Horse Gulch owned by Jake Dalla. Mr. Dalla has agreed to sell the
acreage at the December 2013 appraised value of $762,000.
The property is primarily located on Raider Ridge and the Fruitland Ridge to the southeast. Acquisition
of this property would represent another meaningful step towards permanent preservation of Horse
Gulch and Raider Ridge. The property is adjacent to existing
Horse Gulch and Skyridge Open Space, BLM lands, and private lands including acreage to be retained
by Mr. Dalla.
