Dunellen Flag Rugby

Dunellen Flag Rugby Non-profit, co-ed youth rugby program (grades K–9) that builds speed, agility, teamwork, and game IQ through fast-paced, continuous play

Flag rugby for kids is a co-ed, non-contact version of rugby for boys and girls aged 5-14
• Everyone gets to run, pass, kick, and score
• Players will learn running, kicking, passing, and sportsmanship in a safe and fun environment. WHERE & WHEN:
• Practices at Faber School Field on Mondays & Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30pm
• Games – Saturday mornings from 9-11am with teams from Cranford, Westf

ield, Rahway, Berkeley Heights, and Fanwood-Scotch Plains, Bridgewater, and Bayonne

• Season starts June 22nd and ends July 25th 2015
o Each team plays at least 2 games

Registration Fee is $60 ($50 for additional siblings). An official team shirt and water bottle come with registration. A rugby ball, playing shorts and socks are available for purchase. Cash or check payable to Union County Ruby Club

2026 Summer Flag Rugby Announcements

As we gear up for another exciting summer of Dunellen Flag Rugby, I wanted to share a few important updates and opportunities to get involved.

1️⃣ Summer Season Dates: Tues. June 9 – Sat. July 23

2️⃣Team Manager Needed
We need someone to help organize and distribute shirts and other purchased items at practice, assist with registration or other questions and issues throughout the season. Huge thanks to Amy Buratti who has served as the flag rugby Team Manager/Mom since the program started.

3️⃣Fundraising Support Needed
We also need some volunteers to help coordinate outreach to local businesses for sponsorships and fundraising support. We have a QR code that you can share with potential sponsors.

4️⃣High School Interest – Saturday Pick-Up
We are gauging interest in offering Saturday flag rugby pick-up games for high school–aged players. If you have a child in HS who would be interested, please reply so we can assess numbers. I would be happy with the HS-aged kids joining us for practice, too.

5️⃣Free Clinic(s) in May
We will be hosting a FREE introductory clinic in May for new and returning players. These sessions are a great opportunity for kids to try rugby in a low-pressure, fun environment and to bring a friend. Stay tuned as we get closer to Spring.

Hope everyone remains sane during this Winter. It'll be flag rugby season before we know it.
