Don’t believe the hype and wind up getting stuck out in the cold half way through your season. Corporate houses don’t need to be “saved”. Corporate houses will not keep duckpins alive. Independent houses are the only way duckpins continues. If certain corporate houses wanted to keep duckpins alive, they wouldn’t have been trying to eliminate it in recent years. Centers like Mt Airy, Parkville, Southside, Greenmount, Pinland and other privately owned places that I can’t think of right now (I apologize for that) are the way duckpins continues. We are not rich, or have the capital, that some centers have. We do our best to keep the doors open and cater to our bowlers because we love this game so much. When we run a league, it is for the bowlers, and decisions made are voted on by the bowlers. We would never, as the secretary or people running the league, solely make decisions about the league without having the bowlers vote on it. When all is said and done, don’t believe the lies and false promises. Support the independent houses and the “trusted” league secretaries that work to keep them going.
