Yesterday, our Cru girls traveled over two hours to Maryville for the USSSA Fall Frenzy, and they left everything they had on that field.
Rain delays.. Long waits.. 12 hours at the ballpark.
Yet through it all, these girls kept showing up.
They faced competitive teams they had never seen before, and came out of pool play 2-0, earning the #1 Gold Seed for their bracket. They carried that momentum into their first bracket game, battling their way to another win, and putting themselves one game away from the championship.
Then came the challenge...
They faced a team they had already beaten in pool play, but bracket brought a completely different game with new challenges. This time, we came up short, but there was absolutely nothing about this team that looked like they were ready to quit.
They fought. They battled. They encouraged each other. They picked each other up. They cheered from the dugout, celebrated the little things, and kept believing in one another until the very last out. Then that out came, and they knew it. They had fought hard, and it showed deeply.
The scorebook may have ended our run one game short of the championship, but the way these girls competed, handled the loss, and stood together is something to be proud of. 3-1 on the day 🔥
Long days. Tough competition. Unfamiliar opponents. Weather delays. Ups and downs.
And still… they kept fighting.
That’s Crusader softball. ❤️💙
Proud of this group, and the heart they continue to show every time they step between the lines.
