🚨 NEW PARK RULE ALERT 🚨

Due to a rising number of incidents causing facility damage and creating safety concerns, e-motos are prohibited inside Tyger River Park and North Spartanburg Park, effective immediately.

This rule will be enforced by both Spartanburg County Parks Department staff and local law enforcement. Anyone operating e-motos inside either park will be asked to leave.

Please be reminded that while other motorized vehicles are allowed, they may not exceed 10 mph and they may not be ridden in playgrounds, athletic pods, or on walking paths.

We appreciate your cooperation as we work to keep our parks safe and enjoyable for everyone!

🏍️What is an e-moto? 🏍️
An e-moto (short for electric motorcycle or electric dirt bike) is a high-powered, two-wheeled electric vehicle. Unlike standard electric bicycles, e-motos do not have functional pedals and are designed to be throttle-dominant or fully electric-powered, capable of reaching speeds over 30 mph.

Two Spartanburg County fields are closed tonight, due to unsafe playing conditions from the rain.

All other fields are open, and it's up to individual coaches/umpires if play/practice continues.

🇺🇸 MEMORIAL DAY SCHEDULE 🇺🇸

If there are some breaks in the rain and you'd like to spend time outside over this long Memorial Day weekend, all of our parks, playgrounds and splash pads will be open.

Our offices and community centers will be closed on Monday.

Fitness centers will be open, with keyfob access only.

Kayak and paddleboard rentals at Lake Cooley will open for the season on Wednesday.

Here's what tournaments are happening in our parks this weekend!

🥎 DC Fastpitch Softball is hosting 14 teams at 295 Park.
SATURDAY: 9:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

⚾️ Perfect Game Baseball is hosting 48 teams at Tyger River Park.
SATURDAY: 8:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
SUNDAY: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Most of our playgrounds will remain closed today, due to one of two reasons:

1. There is still ice and/or snow on the play equipment.
2. The playground surfacing holds water and is still partially frozen, making it dangerous if a child falls on it.

The two exceptions are Tyger River Park and Linville Hills Park.
Linville Hills playground is now open and Tyger River Park's playground will open by 1:00 p.m. today.

The following parks will be open by 1:00 p.m. today:

✅ Old Canaan Road Park
✅ Tyger River Park
✅ North Spartanburg Park
✅ Gordon Henry Park
✅ Va-Du-Mar McMillan Park

Our Parks Department offices and community centers are back open today. Many of our parks and playgrounds are still very icy/snow covered and will need to remain closed for everyone's safety.

Our maintenance crews are spread out across the county assessing each location and we will update this list as we have more information throughout the day. Anything not listed below is closed for today.

✅ Tyger River Park: OPEN (main gates only; playground and interior spaces remain closed)
