Last year's men's winner and 2nd overall, Jeff Miller, ran 124 miles at the Fans24 race this weekend good enough for...2nd place again.

Fantastic distance and add in the weather and Jeff's age of 61 and that is just a stellar finish. We look forward to what Jeff will do at Break The Bank this year!

Nathan Hoftiezer of Appleton, WI went sub-3 in a marathon and now, as he has never run an ultra, is looking forward to the next challenge.

We are happy to be there for you, Nathan and congrats on a marathon time starting with 2!

Did you see this?

26:01 for a 10k!! It was downhill so won't count for a world record but it is still a world's best!

We aren't saying that the flat course with the lovely downhill at the end of Break The Bank will help you set a world record, but we aren't NOT saying that!

Sam Tastad of Blaine, MN was "looking for a 50 mile run to push my limits in training and action in MN. This one fit perfectly for giving me time to continue my training for this event and not being a race with a large amount of elevation change. "

We love that we have created the exact race that so many people have been looking for! Good luck, Sam!

Zaki Sajady of Chanhassen, MN will be doing his first ultramarathon ever with us at Break the Bank because he "wanted to something special for my 25th birthday and this is it!"

We'd say! Two miles for every year he has been alive!

A little bit of the Munger Trail got a facelift recently! After some flooding and trepidation last year almost had us needing to reroute the course a smidgen, it is still nice to see that the section near the Buffalo House got even smoother for us runners.

Break the Bank just keeps getting better!

Karl Meltzer, who has WON more 100 mile races than most people will ever run, is known for rarely running more than 30 miles in a single setting for training. His peak training for a 100-mile race averages a modest 60 to 70 miles a week.

How do YOU train for your ultras? Lots of mileage in one week? One big long run? Use other races of similar distances as training runs to get the feeling of how a race will feel?

We want to hear from you!

As you may not know, Break the Bank is one of the few local races that offers prize money for the top three overall winner in men's, women's, and non-binary categories.

We were pleased with how fast runners ran our course last year which we specifically designed to be as quick and runnable as possible. That showed with almost a photo finish between overall winner Rachel Ragona in 6:50:59 and Jeff Miller just 13 seconds later in 6:51:12.

Well, we want to keep those quick vibes going by announcing we are offering an EXTRA $200 to anyone who breaks our course record. That means, on top of the prize money already offered, the overall finisher of any category has a chance to pull in 500 smaskeroos!

This is already on top of the fact that EVERY finisher gets a chance at $500 in the Break The Bank vault as well. We are making it rain, Roger!
