The Lester-Amity Chalet

The Lester-Amity Chalet A project of the Duluth XC Club, Lester-Amity Chalet is a year-round trail hub and endurance community center in eastern Duluth.

Built in 1960, the Lester-Amity Chalet has a rich history of outdoor recreation. Over the years, it has served as a home to cross country skiers, ski jumpers, hockey players and sliding enthusiasts. A group of volunteers is currently restoring the chalet as a community gathering place for a new generation of outdoor enthusiasts. es and electrical system upgrades. Future plans include upgrading the windows, bathrooms and kitchen space as well as improving the building’s energy efficiency. From installing a deck and painting the chalet to transforming the garage into a wax room, we plan to develop a community asset that can be enjoyed for years to come. Visit

Lester-Amity Chalet is now open as a warming house on weekends during the cross-country ski season. It will eventually be open year-round use to host races, events or team practices, and can be leased for weddings, parities, rentals and meetings.
