It’s and to celebrate we wanted to highlight some of the awesome volunteers at Glen Avon! From coaches, to those helping to keep up our rinks, to concessions, and jamboree assistance we are SO lucky to have the outstanding volunteers that we do. Our organization like many wouldn’t exist with the help of our parents and alumni. Thanks for making every practice, game, and rink rating fun for everyone! We appreciate you!

These kids. They are the ❤️ and soul of our club. It’s why we hustle to practice, fill our flood and concession shifts, coach, volunteer to be on the board, and serve on the jamboree committee. They were SO much fun to watch this year.

To those who are moving on to squirts we won’t forget you. Please come back and rink rat and spend time at the rink. To those who will be back next season enjoy your time off. We can’t wait to see you next year. To those who are interested in joining our team please reach out. We would love to have you be a part of our Glen Avon family.

While are season is over, we need to give credit where credit is due. Mark Hilleren stepped into our rink manager role this year and practically lived at our rink. From setting up flood shifts to flooding himself, to tending to various maintenance projects and anything else that needed to be done. Mark did it all and was a huge part of why our ice lasted so long.

Mark, thank you for all of your time, passion, and dedication that you put into the rink this year. We are beyond grateful for your leadership and determination to make the rink the best it could be so that the kids could skate outside. Enjoy the offseason. We are excited to see you back next year! 😎

Almost a week later we are still beaming about our jamboree. Thanks to WDIO for stopping by and sharing all the fun we and the other teams had!

As we reach the middle of March, it symbolizes the end to the outdoor hockey season. To celebrate, a local rink banded together for one last hurrah.

We are all still beaming after a great day of hockey! Mother Nature cancelled our first jamboree date due to arctic temps, and almost cancelled our second one due to a big snowstorm but if there is one thing we know it’s that our club can rally and rally we did! We saw a lot of goals, and huge smiles all day which is what made all the hard work worth it!

Thanks to the eight clubs that participated, the 230 skaters who played, all of the parents and families who came to cheer them on, all of our sponsors, and of course our awesome parents and alumni who helped make this years event possible! It’s take a village and we are so happy with the one we have.

Snow? What snow?😬 We’ll be ready for our 8am M1 games tomorrow! We can’t wait to welcome 24 teams to our rinks for one last amazing day of outdoor hockey!
