Murray is an avid hiker on the Superior Hiking Trail and other local trails. In recent weeks he has noticed a disturbing trend: litter spread around the county.

Spent Easter morning on a walk and picked up 50 pounds of human detritus along the St. Louis River side of the beach east of the Sky Harbor Airport. If every hiker brought a bag on their walks, it would really help! Until we collectively end the manufacture of single-use plastics and find a better way to recycle the waste, we all have to do our part. We met many other Easter walkers who thanked us and said they'd bring bags to help next time.
