I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to volunteer as a guide for an “extreme hike” in for a fundraiser.
The people I got to meet, the stories shared, and the community that came together were so powerful.
The views weren’t bad, either! West Rim Trail, clocked about 16+ miles. Started in the dark, and got so see the stars and the sun slowly rise. A wonderful journey with truly amazing people.

and I have a new appreciation for all you do for your kids and we are here to support you!

First time sn**ching in a long time.. and I can’t remember the last time I did w/o WL shoes.
I could pretend I’m still in good shape, but the truth is I am weak right now and wasn’t sure if I had forgotten how to sn**ch 😆 but I’m glad it’s still there, even if I’m rusty. And have to go light.

Maybe someone out there is also trying to get back into a consistent workout routine, or is trying to get better at lifting. I am with you. Let’s do it together.

It’s been like a month since I’ve been on here.. thanks for sticking around if you still are ☺️ My son is recovering so well and I’m so grateful. I’ve definitely been changed from almost losing him.
This is a little photo dump of some things I’ve been doing to try and stay happy during this emotional past month.
Like: Horses, hiking, lots of family time, friends, and even puzzles..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve been thrown way off, and weightlifting has felt too intense for me this past month, but I’m lucky to have other hobbies while I work back into that.

Now we have 3 horses! Feeding them and mucking their stalls gets me out and moving in the morning air.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of the highlights of this past month was going bird hunting for my first time! I didn’t think I’d even shoot 1–but I got 3 birds!
Cleaning & prepping them to eat after definitely made me appreciate the food that I buy at the store more.

My bae with my bay. My wife was hesitant to get a horse. She said we could only get a horse if it was clear that I would be the one to take care of it. 3 weeks later we practically fight over who gets to feed her. Time for another horse, right bae?

Week 0- building back up.
Sometimes you just have to convince yourself that you are just going to do one part of the workout, and then it’s easier to just do one more part. Then before you know it, you’re done.
This also helped me keep my mind focused on the task at hand, and stay present through the workout. It’s easy to think about the next part during rest, but “one thing at a time” is where it’s at.

I love it when my kids want to do something new, even if it’s kind of scary or hard to figure out! My youngest is the best example in this. He was nervous (mostly trying to stand on my shoulders without holding my hands) but tried it anyway!
This kid. I was cracking up last night cause he kept pinning me when we were wrestling. He is a STRONG little ball of fire! 🔥

Reunion with an old friend: my barbell.
It’s been a while and it was a little awkward—she was rusty (literally—no spin) and I was rusty (with technique and muscles are weak), but it felt really good to be reunited. It didn’t go as bad as I thought!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s been so long since I’ve practiced Oly and I didn’t want to post about it. I strongly believe that if you coach/teach something, you need to practice it. But I decided to be real, and vulnerable. I know a lot of people got thrown off with COVID and other problems last year as well, and it doesn’t help to pretend I didn’t as well.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I got burned out. Life threw some major sucker punches, and we did big things like sell our house/move, so I decided to keep my exercise routine very simple and mindless. Things like running, where I don’t have to pay much attention to my technique. I even learned some things like the that I can bring in to be a better weightlifter, and coach.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So I am going to put WD40 on my barbell bearings, and work to put that muscle back on myself 💪🏼 and continue my love story with weightlifting 😋

I love being out of the rain🌧
into the desert🌵
in the middle of now where 🏜
and that I can keep working on the hand balancing no matter where I go.
Also that Waylon🐶 always wants to be right by me (and steal the spotlight! 😂 swipe to see him casually get right in front of the photo 🙄😅)
