It’s been awhile!!! Just wanted to say hi to all of our new followers and reintroduce myself and this program!

My name is Jenna Exline-Willer and I am the founder of Swim Empowered, a caregiver/child style swimming lesson program for ages 6 months to 6 years of age, designed to increase awareness and education surrounding water safety and introduce kids to the water in a fun, developmental way!

By day, I am a pediatric occupational therapist and use my knowledge to meet kids where they are at any stage of their development and applying it to water safety and learning swimming skills. I have been a swim lesson instructor for 15 years and have taught to all ages and all abilities. It’s one of my favorite things I get to do!

We are going into year 4 of offering these lessons to the Dubuque community! If you are interested in getting on our email list to learn about upcoming registration information please message me!

Registration is open for our Winter 2026 Swim Empowered Aquatic classes! Sessions are 30 minutes in length and take place at the Sisters of the Presentation.

Mondays: January 5th- February 9th
Wednesdays: January 7th-February 11th
Mondays: February 23rd-March 30th

Time slots: 6-6:30, 6:40-7:10, 7:20-7:50pm

We have classes available for kids ages 6 months-3 years and 4-6 year olds! We always focus on providing water safety instruction utilizing developmentally appropriate, play based instruction and activities. Caregivers must be present and in the water with their child.

Do you know we offer a caregiver/child group for 4 to 6 year olds? This class is focused on building the skills needed for independent swimming, targeting the development of floating, strong kicking, forward movement with arm strokes, face submersion, and more! We highlight and practice safety skills like entering and exiting the water and how to move along the wall! 🏊🏼‍♂️🏊🏼‍♂️🏊🏼‍♂️

While the snow and ice kept us away from the first two weeks, we were able to finally dive into the pool and start our first session of 2025 with lots of smiles and laughs!
