Athlete .saleh1 (number 107) has had a busy few weeks. He completed one of the most mentally taxing courses the military has to offer with the Pathfinder Course. Then less than a week later he completed his Army Combat Fitness Test that includes a deadlift, sprint drag cary, plank, medicine ball throw, push ups, and a two mile run. Just 6 days later he competed for the Norwegian Foot March Badge where he had to carry a 25lb pack for 18.6 miles in a time of less than 4 hours and 30 minutes. He completed his in 4 hours and 15 minutes!! Keep up the hard work and congratulations!!

Let’s welcome Landyn Voss to the team! He already boasts a 1636 total and a 436 DOTS as a junior in sleeves!! He’s competing again in September and no doubt will continue to get stronger and stronger!!

They are all a little different depending on what you are looking to do. If you are interested in competing, make sure to check these federations out and understand the rule set for each one. Client spotlight in a little more unconventional way. Michael Fisch was the original one who got me into powerlifting years ago in the back room of Golds Gym that eventually became 22nd Street Barbell. While he doesn’t actively compete in powerlifitng, he is an absolute hammer on the mats. He recently competed at the IBJJF World Tournament in Long Beach CA and was promoted to Purple Belt by his coaches at Citadel BJJ Iowa City. He has added some weight training into his already strenuous routine of BJJ. We look forward to watching him get stronger and continue to represent Key City!!

Hey everyone, I will be at Earned Not Given Barbell this Saturday the 11th from 3-6pm. If you’re a current client and want to come in and train together, discuss your training, or get some hands on critiques, swing in. If you’re not a client but want to come by and talk to current clients about their experience, talk to me about what I offer and see if we can work together, or just come out to ENG to get a lift in and hang out we’d love to have you. Feel free to bring a friend and the environment will be second to none no matter what!! If you’re going to come out and not a current member of ENG, make sure you follow the link below to sign the waiver and get a day pass.
