GOOD NEWS!
The DCLRA has set times for open Pickleball play at their new indoor facility. Beginning this Sunday from 2 to 5:30 and on Tuesdays from 6 to 7:45. There will be 4 courts available on a first come first serve basis.
Please be courteous if courts become crowded.

Pickleball Court Etiquette
When the Courts Are Crowded

* Rotate in fairly. When players are waiting—don’t save spots for friends.

* Get in, play, rotate. Have your paddle ready and be prepared to step onto the court when it’s your turn.

* Keep warm-ups short. When courts are crowded, a quick warm-up is courteous to those waiting.

* Return stray balls safely. If a ball rolls onto your court, wait for a safe moment before returning it. Never send a ball back while someone is playing a point.

* Call “BALL!” loudly and clearly. If a ball enters another court and could create a hazard, immediately call “BALL!” and stop play if necessary.

* Don’t walk behind active players. Wait until the point is over before crossing behind or between courts.

* Respect all skill levels. Crowded courts are for everyone. Encourage newer players rather than making them feel unwelcome.

* No court hogging. Don’t sit on a court, place paddles down to reserve it, or leave a group occupying a court while others wait.

* Keep games moving. Avoid long conversations, unnecessary delays, or extended breaks when players are waiting.

* Share the court. If you have a large group, mix things up and give everyone an opportunity to play.

* Be flexible. Sometimes the best way to keep everyone playing is to join a different group or adjust partners.

* Leave the drama off the court. Competitive is good. Arguments, yelling, and criticizing teammates are not.

* Have fun and be welcoming. A crowded court is a good problem to have!

REMEMBER:

Four players on the court should never mean four people waiting forever.

SHARE THE COURT • KEEP IT MOVING • HAVE FUN
