What I wish every woman 40+ knew about lifting:
you don’t need an hour — you need a smart plan.

Today’s Winter Warriors chest session was proof.

Here’s how we trained in just 30 minutes. Warm up FIRST, and be sure to cool down and stretch after your lift.

Let’s go…

💥 Big Lift: Heavy chest press (barbell or dumbbells)
4x8 HEAVY

⏱️ 10-minute 2x2 ladder
2 minutes to complete 2 exercises, move a total of 5 rounds.
Ladder style
-Inclined Chest Fly- mod-heavy weights (flat if no incline) - 12, 10, 8, 6, 6
-Push ups - 6, 7, 8, 9, 10

⏱️ 8-minute AMRAP
Superset:
10 Skullcrushers + 8 fwd + lateral raises
(controlled, intentional, effective)

🔥 3-minute metabolic finisher- AMRAP
Combo: Burpee with push-up, 4 shoulder taps + 4 mountain climbers

Short. Focused. Challenging. Done.

Strong work beats long work every time.

A few things about me you probably didn’t know 👇

I worked in corporate marketing & sales.
I loved being a stay-at-home mom more than any job I’ve ever had.
I found fitness at 35 and built my business at 42 (you are NOT behind).
I love cardio. Yes, even now.
I lift weights on purpose. Because bones.
I married a yankee who promised me the South and delivered Ohio instead.

😫I know, I know. You’ve HEARD all of “us” tell you: LIFT WEIGHTS IN PERIMENOPAUSE!

But here’s the reality: you might not know WHAT the hell to do, HOW MANY reps you should be reppin’, or if your Barre class counts as LIFTING!

I’ve been there. My clients have been there. And we’ve all come out on the other side.

🙌First, I will say: BARRE, PILATES, YOGA: absolutely amazing fundamental regimens. You can 100% build solid strength with these formats and ideally: include at least one of them in your weekly routine…. Buuuuut…

💣You’re here for the truth, right?

Your METABOLISM, BONE HEALTH, ENERGY LEVELS, and ESTROGEN demand heavier lifting

Your checklist:

✅ Lift to (near) failure in every set
✅ Use a weight that challenges you by rep 1 (YEP), and is impossible to move after rep 8
✅ Repeat 3–5 sets per move
✅ Progressively lift heavier over time
✅ Include all 7 foundational movements: squats, hinges, pushes, pulls, carries, planks, and rotations

Vacation recap? Let’s call it a real-life proof that what I coach…works. 👏🏼

Last week I unplugged from client calls, soaked up time with my husband, and realized something big:

✨ I don’t just coach perimenopause fitness + nutrition…
I live it. Every damn day.

✅I ate dessert every night.

✅Fresh fish twice (3x ?) a day.

✅Sipped mineral water like it was champagne (it is seriously SO damn good)

✅Indulged in those famous European cappuccinos

✅Even enjoyed a few glasses of wine

🙌I moved because I wanted to — 2 strength workouts, 1 HIIT session, and daily VERY HILLY walks (including our daily uphill walk to the gym)👟

No tracking. No guilt. No all-or-nothing. Just moderation, joy, and listening to my body.

My sacred morning + evening “bookends”? Came with me.
Because this is the lifestyle I teach — and it fits on vacation just as easily as it fits in real life.

👉Bottom line: You don’t need to start over when you get home.
You need a strategy that lets you reset and rise—on vacation, in chaos, and in real life.

You need a strategy that honors who you are and how you want to live.

🥂20 years…celebrated in Lisbon, Portugal. 🇵🇹- A city neither of us had visited but hope to return soon.

The beauty, culture, views from ocean towns to hilly villages, and FOOD- OMG the food is worth the trip alone.

My forever travel buddy is the most impatient, intense traveler I’ve ever met. 🤣
Still— there’s no one I’d rather mow over people in the airports with (as I whisper “sorry!” to all of them), no one I’d rather tell to stop cussing (which says something coming from me 🙊), and no one I’d rather travel the world with, busting ass up one hill after another and sweating through every outfit. 💁‍♀️😅

To the next 20 years, and many, many more travels!🌿🥂
