Game day!! Even better they are home games. The local Lions host PSU Hazleton in their home and conference opener at Hamburg. Games are slated for 12pm and 2pm. We have some great specials today.
First we have Uncle Coondog’s homemade chili. Just know it is delicious but don’t ask what is in it.
We Owen Zimmerman bobble head day today. The first 3 fans will receive a $1 off coupon to purchase an Owen Zimmerman bobble head. A keeper for sure.
Lastly we will have a youth clinic with coach Kyle Kaledas on the field after a game. Kyle will take the kids through a fielding clinic. After that, the kids will definitely be able to catch something.
Gonna be a great day at the park.

Weekend update due to the weather.

Sunday 12 & 2 at Hamburg. We will have lots of giveaways and specials for the home opener. Stay tuned.

Monday 2:30 and 4:30 at PSU Hazleton.

Local Lions didn’t make it easy today against Greater Allegheny. It took a total team effort to pull off a come from behind 7-6 win. The Lions got out the gates slow and trailed 5-0 and 6-2. Bats woke up in the 6th and 7th innings. Jake Leininger blasted 2 home runs on the day. DIY Dayne Yourkavitch threw 3 innings of scoreless relief for the win. Lions move to 3-0 on the break and are back in action at 9am tomorrow for a morning special.

Penn St Schuylkill Baseball opens the spring break trip with two wins on Sunday night. 4-2 and 3-1 respectively over Bryant and Stratton. Congrats to Jake Leininger on getting his 100th hit. Culbert and Leininger gothe wins on the hill. Owen Zimmerman earned the save in both games. Local Lions back at it at 1pm on Monday.

Deservedly so, the local Lions cleaned up on conference awards. Congrats to everyone. A great season so far was rewarded.
