Just got back from a windy morning at the range. Brand new 20 inch faxon fluted heavy barrel 22 arc. I'll let the wind excuse the accuracy. But the 22 nosler didn't have a problem. 22 arc speed about 160 ft slower then advertised for 75 gr. 62 gr just under 200 ft slower then advertised. Maybe I got another slow barrel from faxon. But I'll keep my 22 Nosler. Still faster still more accurate in my rifles. 224 Valkyrie maybe minutely slower then 22 Arc but is it worth changing barrels? In my opinion no. Above 2 post were same trip.

So true.

Factory ballistics charts look clean, confident, and precise. Velocity numbers are rounded nicely. Drop tables line up in neat... The post Why factory ballistics charts fall apart outside the lab appeared first on The Avid Outdoorsman.

Did a ladder test this afternoon with 308. Pretty windy but not bad. Ar10 20 inch faxon gunner barrel. Varget powder with hornady sst 165 gr. Last 2 groups are real good for a brand new setup. Also only using a 2x6 burris scope.

When loading for an ar10 you have to make sure the primer is seated to the correct depth. The firing pin on AR type rifles is not captured and could cause a slam fire upon chambering a live round. I always use a K&M precision primer uniform cutter.

Starting a new project today. I have some hornady 30 cal 165 gr sst and a 20 inch 308 that I've never shot. Trimming some once fired brass out of my m1a to 2.012. Hornady brass.

Havnt gave any of my pistols some attention in over a year. That's about to change lol.
