Race Recap from King of the Green at Evergreen Raceway today:

Started: 4th
Finished: 5th

We made our first trip of the year to Evergreen Raceway today for the annual King of the Green race. We struggled a bit in practice winding up around the middle of the running order for lap times. We would qualify 7th out of 17 cars in time trials which put us in the redraw. We redrew 4th and would run top 4 for the first 10 laps of the feature. On the next restart we found ourselves on the front row in 2nd. Restart after restart we battled strong on the outside before we were finally able to get some green laps in and settled in in the 4th position with a tight handling car. We would run 4th until a couple of laps to go when we fell back to 5th. That is where we would finish.

Overall it was a solid day. We were able to run up front against some good cars and come home with the car in one piece. We are looking foward to closing out the Riverhead season next Saturday where we hope to go for back to back wins.

Race Recap from the UARA National super late model Motor Mountain Masters race at Jennerstown Speedway Complex LLC last week:

Started: 10th
Finished: 8th

We traveled out to Jennerstown Speedway last Wednesday and Thursday to run our first race with the UARA National series and our first race at Jennerstown Speedway. We would qualifying in the 10th position. In the race we settled in 9th early and hovered around 10th for the first 25 laps. We had to make an unscheduled pit stop on lap 26 where we lost 6 laps. At this point we were out of contention but still got back on track to log laps and make it to see the checked flag completing 142 of the 150 lap race coming across the line in the 8th position.

Overall it was a really good two days running against some of the best super late model drivers in the country. We are continuing to build the note book and gain experience in our new car and at tracks we haven’t ran yet. The UARA National series is a really well run series and Jennerstown is a top notch facility. We look forward to running with and at both again in the future.

It is Race Day!!!

Today is Day 2 of the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway. We will have a 35 lap feature.

We ended up finishing 23rd after starting 29th on Friday night during day 1 of Speedweeks.

Qualifying starts at 6:00pm with racing at 7:30pm. We will be the second feature. If you can’t make it to the track, tune in for the FloRacing coverage starting at 7:30pm.

Race Recap from the The Red-Eye 50/50 at New Smyrna Speedway last week:

Started: 8th
Finished: 9th

We started our speedweeks in Florida a week early this year running the makeup Red-Eye 50. This was our first race in the new car and first race in a Super late model. We would qualify in the 8th position. In the race we settled in the 8th spot and logged laps. We would run 8th for a majority of the race before falling back to 9th with 12 to go. That is where we would wind up when the checkered flag flew.

Overall it was a really good weekend to learn the track and get comfortable with the new car. We were able to build a good note book for when we head back down later this week to start the World Series of racing at New Smyrna. Watch us on FloRacing this Friday night at 7:30pm for night one of Speedweeks where we will have a 35 lap feature!

Thank you to everyone that came out to help this weekend: Sonny (Jon Beach) from Vandoorn for crew chiefing, Rob Tribuzio for spotting, Diamond for keeping the car shining, AJ and Joe for getting the tires ready everytime we hit the track, Rusty for all the work he did all weekend, and George, Captain Ed (Edwin Brincat), and Mike for helping out with whatever needed to get done.
