You may or may not have seen but this week there was a dam malfunction on the Madison River between Hebgen and Quake lakes. The flows instantly dropped and displaced thousands of fish. We headed out to help the efforts out there.
It was really cool to see how quickly the fishing community got together to help. There were loads of volunteers, people bringing lunches out to the volunteers, and just an overall feeling of gratitude and togetherness. Thankfully they got the dam back up and running and the flows restored within a couple days of the malfunction.
Occurrences like this show both how humans have adversely affected the earth, but at the same time can come together to help save it. Let’s hope we can all just do more of the saving at this point! Photos .marlor58
