For those folks over their “prime” and still wanting to express or build aerobic fitness then DISPARITY is the method for your chosen endurance activities.

I (.coaching) created this whiteboard drawing years ago to illustrate the importance of polarizing your training efforts to achieve optimal aerobic fitness and longevity.

Understanding how the aerobic mechanisms work will help you discern what the priority should be for your training build.

Disparity in simple training terms means:
Easy Effort - zone 1-2
Hard Effort - Race pace and beyond

Most folks find themselves stuck in the middle NO MAN Zone where their effort is not easy but just a sustained GRIND.

Unfortunately the middle zone doesn’t build fitness … it only contributes to fatigue and the “sense” of doing something hard and “meaningful “…. Cause who doesn’t want to raise adrenaline and cortisol to feel something?

The problem is you end up flattening your overall power and limiting your aerobic capacity….because the middle effort doesn’t train power or sustainability.

Here is what you need to do:

CHILL OUT: make an easy day an EASY day. If you use a HR monitor then keep it at 50-65% of your Max HR. Duration needs to be between 45min - 2 hrs relative to personal goals and needs.

GET AFTER IT: days that open up for hard efforts means don’t negotiate with your mind… stretch yourself and your limits. This can be done in interval fashion or MIXED efforts for trail riding or running. Use the hills and terrain as a guide to push yourself.

REST DAY: means do activities that don’t cause fatigue or use of vital energy reserves. Fuel the body, massage or walk in nature to restore and repair.

I have been meeting new folks through this platform so thought I would reintroduce myself ❤️

What do you do?

I provide holistic strength training programs for the people!

What do you specialize in?

Movement correction and optimization,
Athletic performance and spiritual training.

Where do you coach?

My coaching services are available remotely, so you can work with me anywhere anytime!
I also have a small studio for those who live in my home town.

What’s your Background?

I was a competitive athlete for 25years which led me into a career in athletic coaching which has know been over 20years.

I am 5 x NCAA All American in Track and field and competed in various sports after track such as Bobsled, long drive golf and CrossFit.

I have worked with world class athletes to folks who want to feel stronger, live healthier and have more vitally.

I have too many certifications to list but I completed a Master Degree in Sports Conditioning and worked along some of the best coaches in the industry throughout my career. Such as Charles Poliquin and Paul Chek just to name a couple…

What is your philosophy?

I always valued my training as a personal journey… in my earlier years fitness was a way to keep me competitive and build confidence.

I bring that love of the personal journey into my coaching services and have been providing individuals with personalized training plans for over 15years. I believe everyone is unique and therefore deserves a plan that can specifically address their needs and goals.

What is Holistic Coaching?

It’s an approach that weaves in all aspects of what it means to be human. Physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. My intention is to empower people to live authentically to their biology, environment and true essence …. Being more connected with all of life has also shaped my life in the best ways

What are your hobbies?

I love to be in the woods with my dogs, qi gong and bike! I also love to create music sing and make people laugh 🤣… with my epic dance moves or singing!

How do you do that?

✅ Through Assessment FIRST and asking questions that highlight what is important for the client and where they are challenged in meeting their goals.

Why do you believe this approach is necessary?

✅Because it’s the most authentic approach in supporting an individual in their health and fitness journey.

You have to know who you are working with …. What they value, what they struggle with, what they need to do to improve … and educate them to do it themselves. That’s coaching.
