Happy and proud to have the opportunity to promote John baker to blue belt tonight. John has been incredibly consistent for two years now and is making great strides in his game and it was an honor to level him up accordingly. John is humble, hardworking, and a phenomenal teammate. He is a constant source of positive energy in the room and just a fun time to be around. He has worked through a lot of early struggles and we are just at the very beginning of his progress on the oath as a martial artist and a young man. Congratulations John, ITS BUTTA TIME.

Watching the team push themselves humbly into challenging situations and witnessing the support and respect given to each other across all skill levels, ages, etc has been deeply inspirational for me.

The more you help others believe in themselves, the more you will learn how to believe in you.

As Seneca has said "What progress, you ask have I made? I have begun to be a friend to myself."

Thank you to everyone who chooses to walk along side me on their path. You have all given more to me than you know.

It is hard to properly convey the gratitude I feel for the trust that others have placed in me to help them walk a path many will not fully understand.

It is important to me that I walk WITH them, rather than telling them where to walk, from a safe cozy place.

Through my failures, I hope to guide them around common pitfalls of the ignorant, naive, or egotistical, all of which I have fallen into.

I hope to be an example of commitment, consistency, resilience and honor.

I believe that the greatest success a human can achieve is to use their own failures to guide others to success.

Nothing makes me feel better than watching my team GROW.

We all win. We all lose. We don't all grow.

I could not be more grateful for the trust these beautiful, stromg, resilient people have put in me and I will NEVER take this responsibility for granted.

To my team: you may not be aware... but you have All made me better.

I am humbled by the trust and support that has been given to me, and I vow to do what I can to help you work WITH the obstacles you encounter to not only continue on, but excel in, walking YOUR path.
