Monica Johnson’s Institute of Dance’s (MJID) mission is to nurture young dancers with comprehensive artistic education and develop the understanding of the cultural and social importance of the arts. Our intent is to be the conduit in which dancers of all ages and abilities receive high quality technical training in cultural arts. The standardized vocabulary and movements of ballet form the founda

tion for excellence in dance training. This highly codified art form developed out of the court dances of the late 16th century and has since grown into a dance technique of strength and power.

Our Early Childhood Dance Program (Ages 3–5) introduces young dancers to the joy of movement through Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and Technique in a fun, nurturing, and inspiring environment.
