I've heard people ask this before. I'm sure you've heard it or said it at some point too. โฃ
โฃ
I suppose it's a legitimate question, because after all, if you were muscular at a time you were exercising; and now you're "soft", you'd think your muscles turned to mush. ๐ฅดโฃ
โฃ
Let's answer that question with me as the "Guinea pig". โฃ
โฃ
Below are my stats from a 14 week period of medium-high intensity (percieved) exercise and dieting. โฃ(Feb 9 - May 21)
โฃ
๐๐๐๐ ๐ฆ๐ง๐ข๐ฅ๐ฌ: I spent a year gaining 80 lbs (178-258lbs) as a mindset experiment. Since January 2021, I've been gradually reversing my body fat, mind and habits ultimately to be a better coach/teacher. . . In a nutshell.โฃ Currently, I'm purposely NOT training hard-core, yet.
โฃ
Anyway. . .โฃ
โฃ
๐ THE SCALE says I only lost 14.5lbs, or 1lb per week weight loss avg.โฃ
โฃ
๐ฅ But I really lost 26.3 lbs of fat.โฃ
โฃ
๐ฅ I also, dropped 10% body fat.โฃ
โฃ
๐ฅ I also GAINED 12lbs of muscle. โฃ
โฃ
๐ฅ AND I lost a lot of inches.โฃ
โฃ
To debunk the myth of whether fat turns into muscle, the answer is "No". โฃ

โฃ
On the other hand, "if you don't use it you lose it." Lack of movement disables muscle growth and can encourage fat storing when consuming more than you work. โฃ
โฃ
Hope this helps you and anyone out there grappling with the scale, muscles and fat loss vs weight loss. . . Also this is for those trying to understand their anatomy and how it works on a basic level.โฃ
