Mason was pitching in a national baseball tournament when sudden elbow pain took him out of the game he loved. Diagnosed with a Tommy John injury — a tear of the elbow’s ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) common in pitchers — Mason came to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for treatment. After reconstructive surgery, rehabilitation and a second procedure, he made a full recovery. Now 18, Mason is a collegiate pitcher training every day toward his dream of playing professional baseball. Learn more about Mason’s journey, below.
