Some of the boys will be traveling today to Grand Valley 😎. They will be leaving the school around 1pm and the meet starts at 4pm.

The rest of the team will be practicing today.

Friendly reminder for all of our athletes. When school is canceled we will not have practice. If you have any other questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to your coaches.

High School Parents: Here is a message from Stacey regarding the snacks for the athletes. Stacey once again thank you so much.

The invitationals are much longer meets and we will send more on these days. For the longer meets we have also done sliders and wraps from family fare or brought sandwich and lunch meet stuff, generally invitationals, rotary and regionals last awhile. I always bring a cooler with some of the snacks listed below, as well as a cooler or two of water and Gatorade.

Fruit snacks
Fresh Fruit (watermelon, pineapple, melon, bananas, mandarins)
Breakfast bars
Nutritions bars
Slim Jim's/Chops
Jerky
Pb&j stuff
Uncrustables
Water
Gatorade
Gatorlite
Peanut butter crackers (cheese and plain)
Cheese crackers
Peanut butter filler pretzels
Protein balls

All of these have been a hit in the past few years. After each meet I typically let parents know where we are with snacks and drinks but they typically clear a lot of it.

Practice will begin next week on Monday, March 16th at 3pm 😎! We will meet on the track at the Middle School. Please make sure you are dressed appropriately for practice.

Congratulations Jocelyn! 🖤🧡

Let's go for a run! Happy to announce that Jocelyn Kiner of Dowagiac Union High School has chosen SMC to continue her education and running career next fall...CONGRATS and WELCOME to the team!

Coach Sartori said, “I’ve been excited about getting Jocelyn out for a couple of years now. She is a hard worker and dedicated to improving herself. She’s both kind and motivated and I’m really looking forward to having her on the team next fall.”

Coach Ryan Maggert enthused, “Jocelyn started running for Dowagiac her freshman year, which was also my first year of coaching. Since day one, Jocelyn showed up to every practice with a huge smile on her face and a positive attitude. No matter how hard practice was, how hot or cold it was, or how far we ran, she just kept smiling and gave it her all every day. Jocelyn has been a joy to coach for the past four years. I look forward to watching her continued growth as an athlete, a student and an individual.”

Kiner is the first member of the 2026 SMC Women’s Cross Country recruiting class.

In September 2025, the Roadrunners shocked the field and won the MCCAA Western Conference championship on their home course in Dowagiac. The team then finished the season ranked 18th in the country after competing in the NJCAA National Championships in unseasonably cold and snowy conditions at the Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Some exciting news to share with everyone! This is for every high school and middle school track athlete. We will be having an indoor track team this year🎉🥳! We will be starting November 11th at 2:30pm. Practice time will run from 2:30 to 3:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please meet in the high school cafeteria. Parents if you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out!

Sports Physicals: Corewell Health will be offering sports physicals on Monday, July 21, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Wednesday, July 23, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
