π𧑠EvoFit Thought for the Week π§‘π
Last night, Dr. Holly from 603 PT & Wellness shared a message that I BELIEVE so deeply: we're moving away from the old "RICE" approach and embracing "PEACE & LOVE"βa more active, patient-centered approach to healing that recognizes recovery isn't always about stopping. Sometimes it's about moving forward in the right way.
It made me reflect on my own journey.
For the past 10 years, I've built EvoFit while navigating injuries, surgeries, chronic aches, limitations, and seasons when my body simply couldn't do what I wanted it to do. There were many times when retreating would have felt easier. Times when the obstacle seemed bigger than the opportunity.
Looking back now, I can see that some of my greatest lessons and blessings came from those challenges. The hard seasons taught me patience. They taught me empathy. They taught me that strength isn't about never strugglingβit's about continuing to move forward when things aren't perfect.
"We suffer more often in imagination than in reality."
How often do we create stories about what might happen if we try? What if we fail? What if it hurts? What if we aren't ready?
Yet on the other side of so many of those fears is growth.
This doesn't mean ignoring pain or pushing recklessly through injury. It means recognizing that healing, growth, and transformation often require us to gently move toward discomfort rather than away from it.
The hard conversation.
The first workout back.
The nutrition habit you've been avoiding.
The decision you've been putting off.
The staying active with modifications.
Sometimes the hurdle isn't there to stop us. It's there to show us what we're capable of overcoming.
This week, instead of asking, "How can I avoid discomfort?" ask yourself:
β¨ "What might be waiting for me on the other side of it?"
Keep showing up. Keep moving forward. Keep trusting the process.
You've overcome hard things before. You can do it again. π
