Den's Data Den: Not much to report. The tornado that moved through the area damaged part of the little league complex on Electric Avenue. The softball fields appear to have been saved from the storms wrath...Last week was the first time in league history that a regular season had been completed on August 14th. This was the third consecutive season that the regular season had finished in the month of August, and only the fourth time in the 45 year history of the league...With a post season game being played last Friday evening, this was only the third time in league history that a post season game had been played on the same date as the conclusion of the regular season. The other seasons were 2015 & 2016...With eleven forfeit decisions during the regular season, 88 games were actually played on the four Schutte Park fields. Field #1 (22), Field #2 (25), Field #3 (21) and Field #4 (20). Since the Schutte Complex opened in 2000, the Schutte fields have hosted 1371 regular season KCCSL games...New City Black (145) has won the most regular season games at the complex. This includes games when the church was still known as First Southern Baptist and Cornerstone. Other teams with over 100 r.s. wins at the complex are Southside Baptist (130), Trinity Wesleyan (110) and Calvary (105). New Beginnings, with 91, should join the 100 win circle sometime during the 2027 season...New Beginnings (8-0) and Central Mennonite (7-0) love the night! They recorded perfect records in night games in 2026...New City Black (174) is still the leader with the most r.s. night wins since night ball was first played in 1991.
