Change direction on a dime. Mastering this skill is a marathon. D need to switch from forward to backwards on a dime. Blade on ice points where you want to go while gliding momentarily on that leg and lifting other leg rotating around. Sound easy? Not. Uncomfortable to master. Takes thousands of hours.

You must set goals to achieve them. We are about to begin a new hockey season come back the player you trained to be over the summer. Write them down. Set a date to reach each goal. Make realistic attainable small goals and big picture goals. Set hydration goals, stick handling minutes at home goals, sleep goals, points per month in games goals, shots on net per game goals...game on.
