This one's for the weirdos who feel hopeless most of the time but deep down know they're meant for something much greater. 🌟

How different the world feels when
we move through it as guests trying
to earn our welcome,
compared to when we move through it
as participants in its unfolding.

The birds do not wake wondering
whether they belong to the morning.
The river does not question
whether it belongs to the valley.
The stars do not seek permission to shine.

You were invited here long ago.
The tree was invited.
The river was invited.
The hawk circling on a summer current was invited.
The wildflower pushing through
a crack in the stone was invited.
And so are you.

The door was never locked.
The day does not measure your worth
before offering its light.

“Let someone love you the way you are - as flawed as you might be, as unattractive as you sometimes feel, and as unaccomplished as you think you are. To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room.”
