🏁 HEAT RACES FROM 9/20/26 ARE LIVE! 🏁

Racing was canceled this week, so we are posting last weeks heat races!

Two heats. One goal: find the speed and fight for every position.

Mason Oehm Racing is back on the asphalt, and these heats brought plenty of close racing, pressure, and battles for every tenth.

This is what grassroots kart racing is all about—showing up, putting in the work, learning every lap, and going back out there ready to fight again.

Back on the grid for Heat 2—and Mason Oehm Racing is ready to go! 🏁...

Mason took on a highly competitive field in the feature and put together a hard-fought, clean race. Most notably battling against the #3 kart in a dance of patience. Lap after lap, he stayed in the fight, found speed, and started gaining ground on the field.

He brought it home 5th, but the finishing position doesn't tell the whole story.

The gap was coming down. The pace was there. And the fight isn't over.

So we march on.

This is what a championship season looks like: long days, close battles, mistakes, lessons, setbacks, and getting back in the kart to do it all again.

No shortcuts. No excuses. Just family, racing, and the fight to get better every time we hit the track.

“Have you ever driven a stick shift car?”

Mason: Nope.

“But you know how a motorcycle works?”

Mason: Nope.

Ron: “He’s never driven anything manual before.”

Team: ……… 😳

And then Mason went out and drove a Rotax and a Shifter for the first time ever.

No previous experience. No manual transmission background. No idea what to expect.

Just a kart, a track, and a whole lot of curiosity.

And somehow… he looked like he’d been doing it forever. 😂🔥

After his sessions, we got some pretty awesome feedback:

“You are a damn good wheel man!”

And:

“For never driving one of these karts, he’s really smooth and confident out there!”

We couldn't have asked for a better day.

After a few tough races lately, Mason needed a little reminder of why he loves this sport. This day definitely delivered. It gave him a much-needed boost in confidence, challenged him with something completely new, and, most importantly, reignited that fire.

And man… watching him jump into something he'd never driven before and absolutely send it was a whole lot of fun. 😂

A huge THANK YOU to Milrock, Factory Karts, and FZ Shifter for giving Mason the opportunity to experience something completely outside his comfort zone. We genuinely appreciated the hospitality, the time, the feedback, and the chance to learn.

We'll definitely be coming around when it's time to start looking at new karts. 👀🏁

Sometimes you just need to try something you've never done to remember what you're capable of.

🏁 Sometimes you have to stop racing to win… and start racing for the fun of it.

Today Mason stepped way outside his comfort zone.

He raced Senior Medium at Norway for the first time in years. He hasn't raced this track since he was in Sportsman, so it was basically a new track all over again. Add the extra weight that comes with moving up a class, and we knew he’d be starting from the back.

And honestly?

That was exactly where we wanted him.

The last several weeks had started to feel a little too serious. Lap times. Results. Competition. Pressure.

Somewhere along the way, we were losing sight of the reason we started doing this in the first place.

The fun.

So today wasn't about winning.
It was about getting uncomfortable.
Trying something new.
Learning. Racing. Laughing.
And remembering what it feels like to simply love driving a kart.
Sometimes you're fighting for the corner.
Sometimes you're fighting for the line.
And sometimes you're just racing for last, racing for first, just to feel that fire again.

That's what today was about.

Getting back to the basics.
Getting back to the joy.
Getting back to why we race. ❤️🏁

The official OFR Fueled by Family racing soundtrack is finally here! Created for Ava and Mason’s 2026 karting season at Badger Kart Club. Listen here: https://youtu.be/KsY7MquQInY

This music tells the real story of club‑level racing: the wins, the pressure, the cheap shots, the bullying, the comebacks, and the moments that made our family stronger.

🏁 What This Soundtrack Represents
• Mason going from underdog to “the kid everyone wants to beat”
• Ava stepping up, chasing her big brother, and becoming our racing princess
• The highs of dominating the field by a mile
• The lows of harassment, drama, and being the target after winning
• The resilience that kept us showing up, improving, and fighting clean
• A family that refuses to quit — no matter what the season throws at us

🎵 Why We Made This
We wanted a soundtrack that captured everything we lived this year. Every lap. Every battle. Every moment Ava and Mason proved they belong in this sport. Plus some pretty cool music to go over their racing videos!

🔥 What’s Next?
We don’t know what 2027 will bring — new classes, new rivals, new challenges — but we’re coming back stronger, together, and fueled by family.

🏁 The 8/23/26 Feature Race sparked plenty of discussion.

Watch the full length video https://youtu.be/o1tpDYBDsXM?si=O2jH2xbfhjsESg6n and see if you can spot any penalties.

Our 360 camera mount broke halfway through the race so please excuse that. Most of what you should focus on happened in the first half of the race anyway.

🏁🔥 MASON WAS GONE.

You know it’s a good heat race when you can barely see the competition behind you. 👀

Heat Race #2 at Mill-Rite Raceway on Saturday, August 22nd was exactly that.

Mason Oehm put the hammer down and dominated the 206 Junior field, opening up a HUGE lead and putting some serious distance between himself and the competition.

Lap after lap, Mason kept clicking off fast, consistent laps while the rest of the field disappeared farther and farther into the distance.

This is what speed looks like. 🏁

The work.
The preparation.
The seat time.
The focus.
The family behind it all.

🏁 SECOND BY A NOSE. 😳

This one came down to the very last inches.

Mason and one of his longtime rivals spent the Feature battling for position at Mill-Rite Raceway with Badger Kart Club on August 22nd — and by the time they reached the finish, it was a fight all the way to the wire.

Mason crossed the line 2nd by a nose. 🥈

So close.

And the lesson from this one?

Start fighting a little sooner. 👊

When you're racing someone you've battled against for years, you don't get many chances to make up ground. Mason had the speed. He just needed to start that fight a little earlier.

CHAOS IN TURN ONE! 💥🏁

The first heat of Sunday’s Badger Kart Club 206 Junior race went sideways FAST.

With 20+ karts charging into Turn 1, the field broke apart like balls on a pool table. Mason got caught in the chaos—but somehow kept it together with a controlled slide… followed by a little lawn mower action. 🌱😂

He kept the kart pointed in the right direction, got back on track, and kept fighting.

That’s racing. You don’t need a perfect heat—you need to survive, adapt, and keep pushing. But mostly survive!

🔥 Watch the chaos unfold and tell us: Did Mason save it, or did the grass save Mason? 😂 More videos from this weekend coming soon!
